An Ascot-based earring brand has launched a new pair of earrings dedicated to the Princess of Wales after raising more than £10,000 for a mental health charity.
EarSass has created new earrings The Catherine as a thank you to Kate for wearing the company’s Issy Star charity earrings which helped raise more than £10,000 for Brave Mind.
The Issy Star earrings were created in honour of rugby player Issy Phipps who passed away last year at the age of 17 and were subsequently worn on two occasions by the Princess.
The Catherine earrings combine a 14k gold-plated or silver hoop with blush pink beads.
Issy’s cousin EarSass founder and designer Sophie McGown created the new earrings to show her gratitude to the Princess and to mark the fundraising milestone.
Sales of the Issy Star earrings soared after the Princess of Wales was seen wearing them on World Mental Health Awareness Day while hosting Royal Foundation event Exploring our Emotional Worlds, and again with SportsAid while taking part in a mental health fitness workshop.
Every sale of the 18k gold-plated and white-gold plated star-shaped Issy Star earrings saw £5 donated to Brave Mind, which works with rugby clubs, colleges, universities and schools to educate, support and raise awareness of mental health issues.
Following the announcement on Ear Sass’s X account on Monday, February 19, The Catherine earrings sold out in under two hours and are now available to pre-order.
Sophie said: “We are eternally grateful to the Princess of Wales for wearing our Issy Star earrings, in memory of my beautiful cousin, Issy.
“Designing Princess Catherine’s very own pair of earrings felt like the perfect way for us to say thank you and show our appreciation for the thousands of pounds she has helped us to raise for mental health charity, Brave Mind.
“We’ve created this elegant hoop design which we can picture her wearing with the most stunning ball gown or with one of her statement blazers.
“We think it suits her whole style. We’re wishing the Princess well as she continues her recovery and we’ve sent her a pair of the earrings, which we hope she loves as much as we do.”
