Maidenhead United Women’s footballers visited children in the Dolphin and Lion Ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading on Thursday morning to deliver Christmas gifts and signed photos to youngsters who face a festive season under medical care.

Manager Ed Jackson-Norris put a smile on the children’s faces by dressing up as a reindeer for the visit.

Magpies’ midfielder Vicky Carvill coordinated the fundraising efforts to purchase gifts on behalf of the club for the children.

Speaking during the players visit she said: "It was a real pleasure and a humbling experience to visit and chat to such brave kids."

Players Sim, Vic, Amy, and Chrissy took on a Magpies u9s team in a ‘Mini Maidenhead vs Big Maidenhead’ match.

The Mini Maidenhead side prevailed, winning 6-5 after scoring a late penalty.
