An application for extensions to two properties in Cookham High Street features in this week’s public notices.

Planning

Plans have been submitted to the Royal Borough for two storey rear extensions with one Juliet balcony at Southleigh and Willianns in Cookham High Street.

The application also includes a loft conversion with two rear rooflights to Southleigh.

According to the planning, heritage, design and access statement, the properties are situated on the northern side of the High Street and are end terraced properties.

The site is located in flood zones two and three, but ‘with very low risk from surface water flooding’, the statement explained.

It added that the proposed extensions are of a size, design and scale that are ‘in keeping with the character’ of the existing properties and ‘respects the setting the application properties finds themselves in’.

Road closures

The Royal Borough is also intending to make an order to temporarily close part of B3018 The Straight Mile from its junction with Darvills Lane in Shurlock Row westward to the borough boundary.

This is to facilitate the upcoming David Cliff Wokingham Half Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, February 22. The order will come into force at 8am and last until 2pm.

The 13.1-mile marathon will kick off at 10am from Cantley Park, where it will also finish.

The course takes 3,500 runners and participants and can also run in fancy dress.
