A ‘visible and enhanced’ police presence is in force ahead of a state visit to Windsor Castle by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
King Charles extended an invitation to Mr Trump, currently in his second term, after he previously visited Queen Elizabeth II in 2018 and 2019.
The British Head of State will host the Republican leader at the royal residence from Wednesday, September 17, to Friday, September 19.
Residents, businesses and visitors will see a range of visible policing measures deployed across Windsor, including neighbourhood policing teams, armed and unarmed officers, mounted patrols, marine units, drone teams and air support.
There will also be several tactics that people won’t see.
Thames Valley Police is working in partnership with local and national agencies to ensure the security and safety of all involved while minimising disruption to communities.
Airspace restrictions will be in place over and around Windsor between Tuesday, September 16 and Thursday, September 18 and drones and aircraft are prohibited during this time.
Police drones and support from the National Police Air Service in the area will be used to enforce the restricted airspace. The restriction on Tuesday (September 16) is to cover the state visit rehearsal.
In a statement on X, Thames Valley Police Berkshire East wrote: "Our drone unit will be our eyes in skies during the state visit of President Donald Trump in Windsor.
"There will be policing drone tactics that the public will see and policing drone tactics that the public won’t see. These are all in place to keep everyone safe."
The force also said if you see anything that doesn’t feel right, report it to an officer in person, online or call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
“We look forward to continuing our proud tradition of policing major events in Windsor, supporting the town and its community during moments of national significance," said a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police.
